I've been wanting one of these since I joined. I love the idea of food ponies. I want to take up Satsuma. Here is what I came up with for her.
Satsuma G: Female Breed: G1 Pegasus pony Type: Witch's creation; Pony of the Volcano Order Age: She was created 19 years ago but appears a few years younger.
Appearance: Satsuma’s body is light in color like a light orange, almost like a tangerine. Her ears, legs and muzzle are a red orange and fade to a light orange again. Her hair is brown like the bark of a Satsuma tree at the base of her tail and neck, but fade into an emerald green that is slightly lighter than the dark green stems and lush leaves that are scattered throughout her mane and tail. It is these that produce the fruit. Satsuma oranges, yum yumJ Satsuma usually never looses her leaves, unless someone plucks them out, clips them, or they dry up and fall out. If the stems are cut back they grow back consistently within a few days as does her hair. Her wings appear to be made out of orange peel and cannot support flight. They are a vibrant red orange too. The underside is like the inside of a orange peel, whitish light orange. Her eyes are emerald green.
Here is a colored sketch of what I am thinking of. Please excuse the line work. I don't usually do anything but sketch
The pic on the left is Satsuma sitting, looking behind her. If it's too sketchy, I'm sorry:( The pic on the right is the colored one.
Personality: Satsuma is as sweet as her fruit and a bit naïve. She does like to explore, but has never been anywhere but the volcano area. She is sometimes seen above the volcano but usually only under supervision. She needs to be watched because she will trust anyone, always trying to see the good in everyone. She does not understand evil, chocking it up to someone just having a bad day. She seems to care about all living things, but she also has somewhat of a short attention span, at times, and is often easily distracted. All in all, she is very sensitive but very sweet.
Satsuma trees need full sunlight so she craves sunlight. Like, Apple, she likes to sun bathe on the ledges. If she doesn’t get enough sun to photosynthesize, her fruits will be smaller, tarter, not as many, and she will start to get depressed. She also loves water. Without it her leaves start to look wilty and dry. If she continues to not get enough water her stems will wilt and die. She won’t die. Her magic keeps her alive she just won’t look too healthy and she will become melancholy. So she usually needs sunlight periodically through the day, at least 4 hours of it more is always better.
Special Ability: Satsuma grows delicious, sweet oranges from the stems in her mane and tail. The oranges are produced via a combination of photosynthesis and magic. The fruit begins as buds that bloom into white flowers with four petals and a yellow center. After about four days they turn into oranges. She may bloom slower than the other food ponies but because of the extra time, she is able to yield almost twice as much fruit.
Special Power: Self-Healing: Like all the other Food Ponies, Satsuma can grow limbs back i.e. if she looses a leg, she can grow it back. The time it takes can vary - if she's well looked after, gets a lot of water, warmth and light it can grow back in a about a fortnight. If she's not looked after, the limb grows back slowly and it is not as healthy as it was before. *if she were to get cut in half or decapitated, she would die.
Notes: Food ponies eat ground up rocks and soil for their nourishment, they don't need to root, and they get additional nutrients from the water. They never eat what they produce, but they could eat food produced by the other ponies, for example, Lettuce could eat the apples from Apple, and the tomatoes from Tomato. However, they choose not to unless it is absolutely necessary.
History:Satsuma was created as one of the Food Pony experiment, after Onion.
The experiment that started it all: (taken from AngelWings' Onion) Shortly before the experiment that created Onion, one of the original Earth ponies found a strange looking plant. They took it too the witches, and they were intrigued, thinking that any plant that was found near the volcano had to be a hardy dangerous one, and that if it were spliced with a pony, it would create a very dangerous warrior pony that they could use as an effective weapon.
So they crossed the DNA of the mystery plant, and they got Onion. A plant/pony cross breed that had a sweet demeanor and was about as harmless as the root vegetable he was created from. They were slightly disappointed with the outcome intially, but when they noticed small onions growing in his mane and tail, they kept him around, since he was a living vegetable patch. The witches decided to experiment more with 'food' ponies, and very soon Onion was joined by his friends: Potato, Apple, Tomato, Carrot, Lettuce, Cherry and Satsuma. They currently live at the Volcano of Gloom.
He's not allowed out of the volcano area by the leaders of the order as he is a food source and they don't want him to run off/get kidnapped. As such, he isn't seen above ground very often. However he does appear on the surface occaisonally because he needs to have a monthly dose of daylight to keep healthy.
(Please note: the information provided about Food-Ponies has come from Angelwings, as they were her magnificent idea originally!)

Her colors are just fine.
The Food ponies, as you probably know, where made by splitzing the DNA of vegetation with the ponies. So the coloration of them need to reflect that. Check out my Apple some time... She has all the different shades that apples can be found in, yellow....green and red and all shades inbetween (thanks to Ivory I've got a beautiful pic of her.)
Before I ramble on too much, you need to pick an age for Satsuma... all the VO ponies are similar in age however because they were made, they can appear to be any age over 18 i believe. To make things easier... refer to one of the other food ponies for this info.
Once you have this written on her bio... I'll be happy to give my stamp of approval.

I have written everything about Satsuma in her profile. Should I keep the pic in there?

WOW! I love that drawing. You're more than welcome to keep it here. We always love sketches and drawins to give a visual to the description. *jealous*
I think her character sheet sounds great. I don't think we need an exact number to explain how much younger she looks, since that can be interpreted by people's characters. Though, I'd say she probably doesn't look younger than 15 or 16.
I approve!

Thank you, Dragonblossom. I guess I'll keep the pic up Should i get a gallery for my characters because I'm working on pics of Pangolin and Echidna.
