Finally! I haven't created a character in too long, so this one jumped out of my head today. Thought she'd be interesting enough to be worth playing. And I finally made a UNICORN! Woohoo! Hope she's ok, not too powerful or anything... I gave her some pretty severe handicaps to balance her- but if she's still a bit too much, just let me know and I can tone it down. ^__^

Note: Listed are her true colors, which are neutral in hue. She never appears like this, though. Her colors adopt a significant tint matching her surroundings- either imitating the ponies around her or her environment. Her coat changes the least, changes in her hair and horn are quite drastic, and her eyes change completely, most often to the eye color of surrounding ponies. Her colors tend to be a mix of various things around her, but they lean towards what she’s focusing her attention on.
Family: Her twin sister Shenna, mother and father are presumably still alive. Ressa doesn’t know where any of them are.
Personality: unpredictable. Naturally, she’s calm and good-natured with a certain fiery, clever spark to her attitude. A very significant part of her personality directly reflects that of the ponies around her at the time, though, causing her to sometimes go through a drastic enough change to be downright mean.
Natural Abilities: winking. average skill level, but when she connects completely with one other pony and attempts to wink, they come with her. (see below for what I mean by “connects completely”)
Special Abilities: Ressa has a powerful gift for empathy and telepathy. She can sense prominent emotions and the loudest thoughts of any ponies relatively close to her. (the closer they are, the stronger her default connection to them is; it disappears completely if the pony is out of sight and is at its strongest if she makes physical contact.) This is without her concentrating- she can’t turn her ability “off.” The most she can do is try to ignore what she’s sensing in the way you look away from something you don’t want to see. She finds very strong emotions difficult to ignore. Ressa connects mostly to ponies, but she is tuned in to nature to an extent; she tends to know when the weather is about to change or a natural disaster is about to strike. And, her mood shifts slightly with the weather.
When Ressa really concentrates, she can achieve a complete connection with one other pony. When she does this, she can sense even the most guarded emotions and thoughts of the other, and gains a full understanding of their personality and memories. Also, she changes to completely match the other pony in color, and their symbol (if they have one) appears on her hide. This act is very difficult for her at moderate distances, taxing in close proximity, and fairly easy if she’s touching the other pony. The ease depends on the closeness or contact being maintained, however; the other pony can run away and break the connection. Also, she can (with even more concentration) form a connection with more than one pony at the same time. At maximum, she can connect with two with half the depth she can with one, with three at a third of the depth, etc. Multiple connections are difficult for her to maintain, however, and it’s almost impossible for her if all parties aren’t cooperating. Also, if she connects with more than one pony at a time, they see the same in eachother as Ressa sees in them.
When Ressa connects with a pony (this only works for one) with a special power, she is momentarily able to use that power. The strength of her acquired ability starts fading at a fast pace immediately after the connection is broken; she is completely unable to use it after about a minute.
All this comes with a catch. As perceptive as Ressa is about others, she is just as open. To others, her emotions seem to radiate off of her. And when she makes a complete connection with another, they see into her just as deeply.
Also, because she can’t “turn off” her ability, any pony Ressa meets leaves a significant impression on her. Any pony she connects with becomes a large part of who she is- most noticeably right after she breaks the connection, before it fades a little. And, Ressa doesn’t cope well with crowds, because the conflicting emotions can easily overwhelm her. She isn’t comfortable with more than 5 ponies near her; any more than 10 and she starts to get dizzy, and at around 15 she is likely to pass out. She has very poor physical defense, and seems to get injured easily.
Another potentially bad thing about her ability is that it invades her other senses; she can see, smell, and taste the emotions of others, and hears their thoughts as words. The visual and audio cues especially can hinder her from seeing and hearing “real” things. A sizable crowd can effectively blind and deafen her.

Because of their extreme colors, Ressa’s strange and infectious distress when too many neared her, and Shenna's despondent attitude, the twins were shunned somewhat. Shenna's completely black coloration (coat, mane, tail, horn, and eyes) in particular tended to give other ponies the creeps.
As they grew older and their quirks more defined, the twins were both considered unwelcome by the village, but allowed to stay as long as they didn’t cause any trouble. And then, they did.
One day when Ressa and Shenna, 3 at the time, were playing together, they managed to crash into eachother. Shenna was seemingly unharmed, while Ressa’s pained wailing could be heard all throughout the village. When a cunfused and slightly oblivious Shenna nuzzled her sister tentatively, she got the surprise of her life.
That was the first time Ressa connected with another. It was fortunate that it was with her sister, or she wouldn’t be the same pony she was today, or perhaps even alive. Her sister’s natural defensive abilities and closedness from the world prevented a full connection- which probably would have melded them into being the same pony (which some rumor, was how they were supposed to be born). Both fillies were left changed by the event. Ressa’s coat darkened considerably to a deep gray, while Shenna’s lightened to the same shade. Ressa’s eyes gained a little greyish color to them, while Shenna’s grew slightly lighter. After the encounter, any wounds Ressa had sustained disappeared. This was because of the connection, she momentarily gained Shenna’s self-healing powers.
As if the eery wave of mutual pain Ressa’s scream somehow seemed to send out wasn’t enough, the twins’ random change in color sent the village over the edge. They stole the twins from their parents and separated them (believing that together they caused trouble), sending them away for other villages to deal with.
Ressa’s adoptive parents were particularly insensitive about her inability to deal with crowds, dismissing it as shyness and pushing her into social gatherings. After about the 30th time she embarrassed herself publicly by fainting (seemingly out of nerves), she decided to run away.
Note: Though Ressa still causes others to feel empathy towards her, it isn’t as strong as it was when she was younger and her pain reached the entire village. Now if she is in pain, those close to her feel only a twinge that can be mistaken for pity. If Ressa touches another while in pain, though, they feel it in full force.

She's gotta be one of the most complex chars I've seen in the game, not to say the most complex chars of all! She's terribly complex, so just wanted to make a quick bump here to tell you that I've seen her too, read her carefully and...got lots to discuss about her with the other mods ^___^ Hmm...but don't worry don't worry! We'll work on it, so just a little bit of patience, kay? This girl is gonna give us lots to mull over about, I think. In the meantime, here!
