NAME: Pangolin

AGE: His real age is 18, but he looks three years younger or older depending on who sees him.

BREED/SPECIES:Big Brother/ Pangolin

COLOR: BODY: Scales are a dark tan. Pelt is tan. MANE/TAIL: Mane is dark sand, brown. Tail is pangolin with with lighter sand tip and hair of dark sand.

SYMBOL: Symbol is a pangolin slash with four claws in light pink like a scar.

EYES: Same color as his hair, dark sand.

DETAILS Pangolin has a pony's head and overall body shape but the front feet are pangolin with thick claws. His back half is male pony but his tail is pangolin with a tuft of hair at the end. Scales cover his head, front half and ridge his back, covering his tail to it's tufted tip. His claws are a yellow/ white.

POWERS: Pangolin has no powers that he knows of. But he can take blows the size of an elephant. When he's digging around he sometimes causes rocks to fall on him. Big rocks. He can deflect projectiles only if they hit his scales. But that's pretty much it

PERSONALITY: He's rather mischievous at times but can never resist a meal of ants. In fact, he will go to great lengths for his favorite food.

HISTORY: He was made to be an armored creature, powerful and unforgiving. He and Echidna were supposed to be great weapons.... Well, to the witches, they were complete failed experiments and were to be terminated. But Pangolin convinced Echidna to try to escape with him. So, on the night before they were to be disposed of, they dug out, using the new abilities the witches had bestowed on them. By morning they were completely gone, hidden in the forest and there they stayed. Of the two, Pangolin is the only one most actually might see. He comes out into the open periodically. But he does not leave his adopted sister for too long. Wherever Pangolin is, usually Echidna is hidden somewhere close by.

AGE: 18 but appears a few years younger.

GENDER: Female

BREED/SPECIES:Earth/ Echidna

GENERATION: (G1, G2, G3, other)- G1

COLOR: BODY:Pelt is almost black but her spikes are brown and they jut out from her head to the middle of her legs. She also has a black crescent marking turned down on her muzzle , which is brown like her spikes. The somewhat circular area around her eye is brown as well. MANE/TAIL Both are back with brown streaks.

SYMBOL: Symbol is an Echidna slash with four claws, pink, almost like a scar, like Pangolin.

EYES:Green

DETAILS: Echidna has the overall body shape of a pony, but her back legs are clawed like an echidna and they fade from near black to brown like her muzzle. She is also inlayed with spikes from her head to her tail but they start to dissipate near the middle portion of all four legs.

POWERS: Echidna has spikes that can and do break off into the victim. They are much like a porcupine but not as brittle. Depending on where the victim is hit, the spikes can be life-threatening or just very painful. They are barbed and can work their way into the flesh deeper. Very hard to remove. So, if a pony is hit in the mouth and does not have the spike removed, it will work it's way in and eating and drinking, etc, will become too painful to do. This can end in starvation, or dehydration. If a pony is hit deep in a major organ and does not get the spikes removed, they will work they way deeper and can cause death. When trying to remove them, don't try to just pull them out. The barbs will pull flesh with it.

PERSONALITY:She hates what she is and tries to hide from everyone because she is afraid of hurting creatures.

HISTORY:She was one of the experiments, a failed one at that. She and Pangolin were scheduled for disposal but the plated male convinced her to run away with him, to escape death. So on the night before thier execution in the morning, the two escaped and ran deep into the forest where they reside. But, Echidna usually stays hidden from all eyes.

When you say "experiments" are you talking Volcano of Gloom witch experiments, or other?

If they are Volcano Order ponies (hereon known as VO ponies) they could physically be no older then 18 according to our timeline. This works to your benefit though, because they are experiments... they could have been created at to look like any particular age. If the witches were aiming to make an army, I doubt they would have started their soldiers at an infant size. The long and short of it is... you can have these two "look" like any age you want. That is.. if they are VO ponies.

(There's more to come, but I need to know if you are planning to make these VO or not)

My first comments/questions are about pangolin...

1) he is rad!!!
2) I understand that he is heavily armored... but everything has a limit... what would be the equivalent to the largest blow he could take? ie: 2 ton rock falling from 30 ft above? the weight of a full sized dragon or an elephant?
3) Where is he currently located?

Next comes Echidna...

1) very very cool!!! (luffs them both!)
2) what happens to the pony after being "quilled" for a long period of time... does the wound become lifethreatening?
3) Where is she located?

About both characters...
1) please decide on an age
2) Because these are your first characters, I would like to see you deploy them
one at a time unless they are virtually inseparable counterparts.
3) How high do you see them in the "pecking order" of the volcano?

Uh, ok.

I'm not sure where he and Echidna are located. Where do you think I should put them? They eat bugs, and sometimes vegitation, so they can live underground. They are both 18 but appear to be a few years younger or older depending on who meets them.

Pangolin and Echidna move together. They have adopted each other as siblings. Echidna is very shy and only trusts Pangolin. Pangolin moves about more freely than his "sister". She hides most of the time.

I think the two of them are pretty low on the pecking order.

Not sure what their affiliation is with VO. Could use some help on that:)

You have a few options:

a) they chose to leave the Order and ran away from the volcano. If you choose this option, be aware that they will have VO agents after them with orders to hunt them down and kill them, since nobody escapes from the VO without any trouble ;) (Although note - nobody will RP them being harmed or killed without your permission) (e.g. Midnight Express, Orca)

b) They are still part of the order:
i) They are currently located at the Volcano, but this is the only place you could deploy them - that doesn't mean they can't plan an escape or something similiar though ;)
There are a lot of characters being played in that area, so they won't be alone (e.g. The Food Ponies, Harvester, Whiplash, Chain Gang, Meteor Wing)

ii) They have been sent by the leaders of the VO out into Ponyland to track down escapees/traitors, spy on the authorities etc etc. (e.g. Serraph, Swan) If they're low ranking though, I expect they would have to accompany a higher ranking pony.

So if they are still in the order, they will have to stay there?

Since they are failed experiments I think maybe they should be fugitives hiding out in a deep dark forest or something. I'd like to keep them in the order though.

Well... the Food ponies started from a failed experiment too. The idea was to create a durable and hardy pony with a chemical weapon. What they ended up with was Onion... hardly a weapon. They took what they got though and still put it to use and this inspired them to make more. Now we have Apple, Cherry Cocoa...

In other words, failed experiment or not they would find a use for them. Taking into consideration the fact that they didn't turn out as planned and don't seem to be overly violent creatures, they might get quite the low rank.

So yeah... basically if you want them with the order and in the volcano, that's cool and if you don't that's ok to.

What if they were failed experiments of the witches? And they ran away from the volcano because the witches were going to eliminate them because they were useless? Would the VO except them if they returned to the volcano? Or should they be refugees and hide in the forest? Which idea do you think would be more fun in the game?

On another note, I love the food ponies and I'm hoping to be taking over either Satsuna or Potato later. That character will stay with the VO for sure:)

Ah, that's what I meant about their affiliation. The thing is, they can be VO ponies without being part of what's currently going on at the volcano. (meaning, they could have left voluntarily, been kicked out, etc.)

I'm thinking, since they were basically 'good' ponies, they would have escaped on their own at some point. Depending on what's going on at the volcano (no one really knows. o.O) they may or may not be welcomed back if they decided to visit. My guess is that they probably wouldn't be.

As for being hunted and killed, I wouldn't worry too much about that. Something may happen in the future, but I've been playing a VO pony who defected for a while now, and she hasn't been bothered. Of course, they might assume she was killed in battle.....

Ok. My ponies will have left, escaped. Should they be direct experiments from the witches and ran away because they were going to be killed for being failed experiments? Or no? What would make more sense for the game? Also thank you all for helping me edit these two. I've been lurking around here for a while as a guest and finally got up enough courage to join. along with the age that you have decided to go with,
