COLOR: BODY: Black with red front feet socks that stretch to his knees.

MANE: Red, that he can set on fire when he wishes

TAIL: Black with two red streaks on each side

SYMBOL: A knights helmet with a flaming sword diagonally in front

EYES: A deep red



DETAILS: Since Night was little he's always feared leaving the tunnels. Both his mother and father purposely frightened him so that he'd never find the courage within himself to leave if they'd died prematurely. He knows nothing of the world that has changed around him and since few journey down into the tunnels he rarely meets anyone and often makes an effort not to. The only thing he'd ever know about other flutters like himself would be that of stories and descriptions hes been given. His parents knew he'd eventually leave and told him of rose dust and all her children, describing them to a T, feeling that he should at least know of his rich lineage even if he was never to meet them.

Often having been labeled as a ghost to the residents of flutter valley he runs through the outskirts, dashing among the trees, only leaving to eat. Always returning a few moments after sun up. Not having missed a day break since he was a child, watching at his safe spot near his own small entrance (or back door) to the caves.

POWERS: MidKnight Flame Has the ability to beat his wings at an accelerated rate Or an "Utter Flutter" ( This was taught to him by his father and mother for special emergency reasons, just in case, the technique creates a whirl-wind almost tornado effect within the tunnels, pushing who ever dared to harm him within, out."

Fire circle:
Fire circle is a mix of offensive and defensive based attack to seperate and defend him from his opponent. This is his strongest attack and can last up to 5 min if defenses are not employed as he makes his, or his parties, escape typical time lasts 1 min.
A total of 5, or 1 cross like, flaming speer's burst from the ground to create the circle, line or personal shield. From the middle of the cross (where the horrizontal and vertical connect.) can throw soft ball size fire balls as the last part of the attack. The attack can only shoot 10 balls. 2 for each 5, or 10 for each one.

Fire resistance:
This is his natural ability given to him through his mother. This ability allows him to walk though the hottest of fires without a single burn thanks to an oil created on the skin and in the fur. Because of this he must drink water on a regular basis and is commonly seen with a tankard or large water skin.
(Note: I know he has a few powers that he probably wouldn't know at 22, but he's been relatively alone in these caves his entire life with nothing else to do but improve himself and become stronger)

PERSONALITY Despite his natural reluctance to leave his only known home, he is a very brave flutter when placed in direct danger. He deeply respected his parents and respects their dieing wish that he would always try to be safe above all else. Yet as he grows he's slowly realizing that there is something he needs that he cannot find. A looming shadow follows the back of his mind and becomes stronger each time he watches the sun rise. MidKnight possesses a strong feeling of duty to his friends, as well as a very one tracked, stubborn mind when he feels he must do something. Mid is a very laid back pony otherwise, probably another reason he just hasn't seemed to leave his tunnels for so long. His happy and care-free personality causes him to laugh often. His favorate game is racing the series of lizards that reside within the tunnels. these two events have given him a laughable rumor at being a ghost of the caves.

HISTORY:When Flutter valley was first taken over, both Knight Runner and Sun Flare ran to the tunnels beneath Flutter Valley/Shadow forest that the Grundles had abandoned when they accepted dream castle so many years before, with a few other injured refugees. As the others died or dissapeared into the deep caves and twists of the tunnels, both knight runner and sun flare where left, if only because Sun flare's wigs glow slightly. And as time went on they had a child within this world of darkness, emerging only in the latest of night. Even now thier only son, Midknight Flame only exits the caves in the darkest of night when he feels its safe.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

FAMILY: (I don't know any flutters from the movies or dolls that I can remember off the top of my head so-)

MOTHER: Sun Flare

FATHER: Knight Runner

FRIENDS: The only friend Midknight posse's is a small white mouse that he saved from a spider as a teenager. It was probably the feeling of duty to this paralyzed mouse that helped Mid to stay within the tunnels in his growing adolescence.

HOME TOWN (or current area of play): The Tunnels of Flutter Valley/Shadow forest

Will take a a look over soon, just wanted to remind you that the *hearts* are kept as a way for us MODs to show that a character has been approved, so that is why I took it off.

One other thing, is he a G2 or a G1 Because I don't think G2s had flutters. lol Most likely this was a typo?

Neat!!

This seems to be a nice, well rounded character. I love the imagery you've created with this character and I'm looking forward to seeing a pic of him!

I'm ok with him having more powers than usual... You have been around long enough to know how the game works. I agree that if he spent a lot of time by himself and studied profusely and worked continuous on increasing his power... He could achieve more. It sounds like this is where he is coming from.

So far he has 5 powers with 2 more that he could inherit through association(Flight and Fire Resistance) that have not even been considered. This is well beyond what is typically allowed. I need to know which of these you'd be willing to part with.


Flaming Mane: The Flaming mane ability you can keep cause it's more localized and less likely to interact with another's character.
*I do have a question about this though... since there's bound to be contact between his mane (when it's on fire) and body, does this mean that he's resistant to fire damage? or Just the fire he produces? If he has resistance to fire in general, then technically, that would count as a power as well...


In short, you need to limit the number of powers you have (including the Utter Flutter/excluding the Flaming Mane) down to 3 in total if you're not taking the Fire Sword or 2 in total if you are taking the Sword.

Utter Flutter/Whirlwind: You can have one power due to his natural ability "Utter Flutter" and if you want to keep the whirl wind effect or trade it for another one of his non-offensive abilities, that's up to you.

Flame Sword: You can keep the flame sword or you can keep the shield and circle of fire. Because the flame sword would be an offensive power and could potentially be used as a fatal weapon, you can keep it if you give up the others.

Solar Shield & Fire Circle: The last two (the shield and circle of fire) would work fine together to scare away attackers rather than harm them so keeping them both instead of the flame sword would work too if that's what you choose.

Flight: There's one last ability that we haven't touched one... Flight.
Because this pony has lived it's life in these tunnels, it would be less likely to have learned to be such an adept flier as the rest of his kin. Flutters are known for their precision and there agility in the air. Granted that he would know how to fly... he would feel the lift any time he used Utter Flutter but I think that he'd be a little clumsy in the air.

If you want him to be an adept flier then you will have to trade one of the above abilities/powers for it.

Fire Resistance As mentioned in the Flaming Mane ability, I need to know if he is resistant to just the fire he produces or all fire in general. If he is resistant to all fire, then this would count as a power as well.


Of the powers you decide to keep, please let us know how they work.... ie. how long does the "flaming mane" last, could it inflict damage to someone else? Does the Circle of fire only work while he's on the ground? Would it move with him if he walked somewhere? How long does the blade reach on the Flame sword?

I've read over his profile and find that Sider had beaten me to it! mlpeod/tongue.gif Not only that but I think she did a better job of explaining it than i would have. So, basically I'm saying I second her opinion.

Adjust as she's requested and then let us know so we can re-evauluate this wonderful guy!

Those are some very good points

Yes I'm sure that in living in caves all his life he probably is a very clumsy flayer and probably wouldn't get any better if he didn't leave(though he may never be a strong flyer cause he's been grounded for too long and nether one of his parents strongly excelled in flying). Given that he can fly and surely his mother and father, as flutters, would have taught him somethings he still wouldn't be nearly as graceful as his parents, dwelling more on living on the ground then that of in the air like normal flutters. Surely thinking flight would only put him in danger.

So I'm going to go with the fire resistance. Naturally his body is immune to the burns of the fire he creates. But since he's such a week flyer (and even if he trained with flutters in flight he may never excel in the skill. get better, but never excel in it.) Surely he's had to hone in on his special skill of fire and protecting himself, rather then in flight and fleeing that the flight options. So, yes, I would assume that he would indeed be resistant to most common fire that isn't enchanted.

Concerning the fire sword:
I've thought deeply on it and given his situation he may just do well with actually possessing a sword. Not only would it give him more training where magic could only get so strong without a real opponent, he could continue his training as a swords-pony. Especially since he cannot fly strongly and considering his father could have, upon his death, given a sword to his only son that could burst into flames. I think that would work if its ok with you that is.

So in the end I'll give up being a strong flyer for fire resistance.

Powers.

Utter flutter: The only power of flight he knows;
If holding still in flight, he can create a powerful wind that push's an "enchanted" air at his opponent pushing them away.
Note: He is not aware its enchanted. He's never met anything like the smooze and would have no idea that his wind powers have a natural magic to them. He would have to have someone tell him that.
This is his less worked and weakest power compared to the others based on the lone training of 19-20 years would make it if he trained regularly on his flight. Though its a strong utter flutter compared to other flutters because he has trained in it with and (some) without his parents. But given his current location and training he can only use it when holding perfectly still in the air, because he seldom uses it in training, only under special circumstances. This power is less effective then the others he uses.

(ok I put a condition on this. Because he's not a good flyer, the only power he uses is a strong one compared to other flutters. But he can only do it if he holds Perfectly still like he would in the caves. This at least makes it a strong attack but leaves him vulnerable where a normal, well skilled flyer would simply move if attacked during.)

Flame sword:
A sword given to him by his father that possesses an enchantment that, when lit, alights the sword surrounding it in flames.
(thats how the sword would work if it was a physical thing then a power. But I'm not sure if this would be a power cause he could bring the sword up to his main and set the thing aflame. I dunno. )

OOOH Tay, so far this is what his powers are to detail. All his powers have conditions and his main power has many manipulations due to the special time he's spent on it. Its pretty much his special attack. In growing he may find one more like Fire rain or something but that wont be for at least another year of manipulating his strengths. OR if Kara or another flutter teaches him how to fly better he may just pull off a simple sky agility.

Hey there...

The idea about having an actual flame sword instead possessing the power to conjure one up isn't going to work. Quite literally, it's the same thing, they just come from a different place. So I'm going to have to ask you to pick a power/ability to minus.

In the future, if you wish to do so, you can rp him trying new twists with his powers to develop more of his powers but for now he needs to minus one to start.


On another note...
I don't know if I wasn't clear when I was speaking about Fire Resistance. He can be automatically fire resistant to his own fire without using up one of your power allotments. It when it comes to other fire that he would need to have it as a power.

ok, no flame sword. But yeah I must have been confused I thought you said it was ok to have 6 powers including the one natural ability

Please update his bio to reflect the changes made. You might also want to add the specifics of his powers to the bio as well. It's easier to have every thing laid in your characters folder instead of trying to find this thread after a few months.)

Sounds fabulous! I wish i could've been around more this week to help with working the kinks out. (school is hectic right now).

Just a comment on the Sword: see our MLPs can't use their hooves as hands so he'd have to use the sword in his mouth. not the best of ways to fight IMO. I think is fire circle is much better! and has a lot of potential. mlpeod/teeth.gif
