:Powers:
All plant related powers require Ivy to place her hooves into the ground and take in the near roots.

Growth: This power allows her to manipulate plant life. Allowing plants to grow at a faster rate.

Absorbsion: In shaking her main Ivy is able to spread seeds embedded within her mane and grow soft white flowers that assist her to absorb the sunlight at a faster rate.

Wink: A strengthening power to wink herself from one place to another
Multi-Wink: A growing power that allows her to wink 1 other being if in contact with that being.
History: ((here we go ^.^; ))

Born to the twinkle eye unicorn Fizzy, and the Unicorn stallion Rose Thorn.
These two strangely met after Thorn had arrived at paradise estates looking to learn alchemy, and many of the unicorns couldn't even accomplish the feat. Spending many months there Thorn had soon come to realize that none of the little ponies knew anything about power manipulation. Thorn was soon preparing to leave when Fizzy exclaimed her feelings for him, returning those feelings he staid a little longer with the plucky unicorn.Ivy Moon was born from this union. About 2 months after she was born she saw her father off as he left to research Alchemy with a few other stallions. 6 Months after the stallions had left the great death began. Slowly at first, no more then a small cold... then as it worsened most of Thorns caravan had passed away. It occurred every where ponies resided and worried Thorn as they continued. Fearsome for his two girls Thorn turned back, along with the rest of the other stallions, to Paradise Estate. But, unfortunately, when they arrived they had found many ponies already dead, and more still dieing. Thorn looked desperately for Fizzy and Ivy, when a near dead pony said they where heading to flutter valley to see if the flutter ponies had a cure. All the children as well as the hand full of unicorns left, granted a little longer due to the magic they possessed where the earthlings and Pegasus do not. Thorn quickly turned and ran through the known path to flutter valley remembering how Fizzy had talked about it with him. He haden't been on the trail for too long when he had found them. It was quite literally a handful of unicorns only and many children along with Fizzy and Ivy. Thorn and two other stallions had met them and continued on. Upon reaching Flutter pass the pass still was green and floral, normal from the sun stone's power that hadden't been effected yet, some of the baby ponies where becoming ill and the unicorns grew worse with each passing day, their powers dwindling quickly. Getting an idea Thorn stopped Fizzy and Ivy and held them in Flutter pass, he allowed for Ivy to go play since she had not seemed to be affected yet, by what they thought was the virus. He told Fizzy that they could place her beneath the flowers and the sun stone would preserve the garden, and her till the virus is no more. He would set a timer for a decade and a half later, and hopefully the virus would be gone. Reluctant Fizzy agreed and called Ivy over, walking to a dense part of the flower garden, among a patch of clover and single white flowers they kissed and hugged Ivy. Unsure what was happening Thorn took Ivy and laid with her and told her to think of soft flowers, then their leaves and stems then deep to the ground to their roots. As she did her horn glowed lightly, placing his horn upon her's he manipulated and mixed the powers remembering what he had learned from his alchemy studies. Imagining the roots growing and spreading. And slowly they did, they started to cover Ivy and pr!cked her skin taping into her blood vains. Thorn closed his eyes to Ivy's screams of fear and pain, tearing knowing that this was for the best. Fizzy then walked up and placed her horn upon Ivy's, trying to remember what Thorn had already shown her, sending her to sleep. Standing up, Thorn took a few steps back his horn still glowing. As Ivy laid there the ground opened around her and swallowed her into itself burying her upon the clover she slept on. Then as the crevice closed small white flowers grew where the opening had been and he turned to Fizzy telling her that these flowers will help her grow, by taking in food from the sun and water from the rain she will wake in a 15 years and be free from the virus. Crying they both headed back to Flutter valley where they both died.

Now as time rolled on and Ivy grew deep beneath the surface, the world as she had known it was slowly changing. It grew dimmer and darker, few flowers and grass grew, yet the small scattered flowers still bloomed as needed. Till eventually a fire ravished the land, destroying all, including the soft white flowers that preserved Ivy. But, as luck would have it, Ivy's powers kicked in upon defense, she stored energy within the flourishing roots and grew on the stored energy for another year. After that year the flowers grew from the ash, and begin again, storing and transferring energy. Catching up for the next three years, Thorns timer having been paused due to the fire. Then when the timer was up, and the magic that was to last 15 years expired, the ground opened and deposited Ivy, now grown, into the world.*

So...I'm letting you know I've seen this and will get to it soon. Though... may I ask that what ever is new, be highlighted somehow?

Like placed in a different color or bolded? It will make it easier for Me (don't know about the other Mods) to compare to the old Character sheet and figure out what needs our approval for this update.

She sounds cooler than ever though I must agree with Jenni... I'm much to lazy to pull up both her character sheets and try as I may, to figure out what is new and what isn't.

So yeah.... Please bold any changes and I'll take a peek.

Thats fine, I highlighted the additional power.
I really hope to make this a new power without taking others away. Most of the others she does naturally because of her fathers teachings.
And if its approved then that will be her power and she'll have 3 at the age of 19
course I don't know how many powers she'd be allowed to have at 19 eather

That is a very handy power to have, and quite a strong one if I may add...
What has she (Ivy moon) been doing to develop this power? Usually extra powers are gained after some experimenting with similar powers, a life changing event or by complete accident. How is she going to be discovering this power?

Which ever way you're going to work this... it'll need to make sense in the story line that your in. Generally we frown when said character suddenly jumps up and says... "Oh by the way... I must have forgotten this but I can actually 'Insert power' "

Not saying this is what you're planning on doing, but I'd still like to know.

She had been experimenting with it. When she first woke she winked a few places then she winked with Alue, megaskullmoon's little bat creature.

That time I didn't even notice but she'd stretched her powers to be able to take the little bat with her. But she wasn't the size of a pony ether.

But, if you ask colormist I did have a point where she'd already tried it.

but I didn't know that I had to get her power formally approved first, so I had to change the post. If she's approved in time I might be able to change it back.

It happened when she was straining to figure out a way to save her and another pony but out of her fear and strain she acquired the power but now I don't know. All I know is that I cant do anything at all if I don't get it approved first.

See it was perfect in her strain she reverted back to the basic principle that had created winking in the first place by Twilight, a wish.
I'd broke it down to her simply wishing with all her might that she wanted to be safe with all her friends and reach them without leaving Pangolin to the onslaught. And it was the strain of that wish and that want with the fact that she can't run because the roots of shadow forest tore her back legs apart. So I'd actually love to try and get this power approved soon so that I can still use it.

Well its not the exact post but thats so close its creepy. And if its approved in time it'll be the post that helps her discover her new powers if its allowed.
I know its a weird power but Fizzy herself created weird powers too, one of the reasons I chose to make her child, like her bubble powers to capture the..... Frizits? (Its been a long time since I've seen that episode) But Ivy has come straight out of a time of unusual magic in the first place

I can understand why it would seem that she could do this from after Mega's post... with little Alue reappearing with her at the top of the hill... Truth be told though, that shouldn't have happened. Mega has also been around long enough to know that (though I do appreciate the humor of the post).

I know this was regarding Pangolin but it would also apply to Alue.
So considering that the first time it "happened" was unapproved, she still needs to develop it.

I'm also looking at the fact that she has been physically using her winking powers for a little over a week... Her first post was during "Day 3" so she's had a week and a day to regain the knack of winking. It wouldn't make a lot of sense for her to suddenly be able to have mastered it to the point of teleporting others as well. When a unicorn winks while in contact with something living, it runs the risk of melding with it so it's rather a tricky ability to master. She should practice with un-living matter first and who knows... perhaps this experience would be the key to her striving to learn this degree of winking.
So, for the meantime, I'll have to say no.

As for the predicament..
If you haven't thought up an alternate way of dealing with the situation at hand, you guys may need to quickly think up an NPC to help your characters out. As long as to keep the NPC basic, you don't have to get it approved. Perhaps it could be a hermit that knows the forest really well? Just a suggestion.

I'd like to add a couple of comments here.

Ivy, you know it's not true that we "can't do anything at all if we don't get it approved first". What we can't do is change, significantly strengthen or add powers to our chars without approval. When we first submit chars, we have to define their powers very clearly, and that is what is analyzed, appraised and granted. And for that matter, not only the powers, but the skills, colors and history of our chars. We can do almost anything we want with our chars, except doubling their powers, chaging their history, etc. That is why there is an approval process in the first place. Making a unicorn - who, by nature, can only wink himself or herself - suddenly be able to wink with herself a whole pony (and a really large one like Pangolin) - is, I'd say, more than doubling her power 200%. We can rp our chars, make them speak, talk, move, run, join stories, almost anything we want them to do, but please, we do have to respect the traits they were approved with.

I can perfectly follow your reasoning of how Twilight's wish worked, but mind you, that is an interpretation. That's what the General Dicussion section is for. If we want to interpret how powers work, how they could be enhanced, doubled or tripled, whether we can have a really powerful char like an ATE, or any other tricksy matters, we're always open and more than willing to discuss and exchange ideas. While you may see it as a matter of just "wishing really hard for something" (And I'll tell you here, I really liked the concept you worked in there, about Fizzy telling Ivory that it was something she had to wish for with all her heart, I think it's quite a cool concept), this doesnt' mean that we can have our unicorns do anything they want just because they wished it really hard. It is still a power, and like Sider said, quite a powerful one, and thus it cannot be simply subject to interpretation. Basically, you could say that all ponies of darkness in general, unicorns and non-unicorns, use their magical powers by wishing to use them. But I hope you see the point: if a char was approved with the power to heal one pony at the time, I cannot suddenly say that because said char wishes it with all its heart, it can heal two ponies at the same time. Or one of my chars, who can create three images of himself, I cannot say that just because he suddenly wished it really hard, he'll be able to create six images of himself. Not without discussing it first and getting it approved. I'd really hate for you to feel like you can't do anything. I don't believe this is the case. We do have considerable freedom to do most things with our chars, but there are some rules we do have to follow. All of us.

I'd like to suggest that you read this thread. This is an old discussion thread (back from the time before I even was a mod ). It's a good example of a discussion when we wanna do...extra thingies with our powers. It's all about unicorns and their winking powers. I really really recommend you to read it all, it'll give you a very good idea of the whole thing. Mind you: I'm not saying you should have read this before. of course not, the game is huge and we can't possibly have read all threads out there. I'm merely saying it'd be very useful for you, since you seem to be very interested in the whole teleportation thing too.

I'd like to quote a small question of mine and the answer I got from TeAlZien: it addresses a scene in MLP The Movie, when the kids, Magic Star and Fizzy are running away from the smooze and run into a small canyon. Fizzy is carrying Danny and Molly on her back, and they ask her if she can jump. Fizzy says "Gosh, I don't think so!". Then they hop on Magic Star, who is able to jump the distance, and Fizzy simply winks to the other side. Now here my question:

The whole discussion is in that thread. Eventually, we agreed on unicorns being able to "carry" small non-living objects witht them when winking, but not living creatures. Small or large.

There's a character out there, Jessie's Romani. She's a unicorn whose sole power is to be able to wink other ponies with her and take them to any place she's been to before. Perhaps I should mention that winking is already considered quite a strong power, and in spite of that, we can still add another extra fully developped power to our unicorn chars. Ivy isn't only able to wink (like all other unicorns). She has also a great fully developped power related to plants, growing them and to a point, getting energy from them. Ivy is no weak character at all, she already has two very good and developped powers. We can kinda "add some strenghtening" to our winking powers, like making your unicorns be able to chain several quick short winks in a row, or making them be able to wink long distances with above average accuracy. But making them be able to wink other living beings with them is definitely way beyond and I'd consider it a whole extra new power, not just simple strengthening of the winking ability. Or, if you like, super super super strengthening of the winking ability .

I think there might be some confusion here. First of all, please remember Ivy is a pony of darkness. Second, I'd say that the ponies of darkness (and the current time in Ponyland) actually have much more unusual - and stronger - magic than their ascendants of light. Now, I don't really think Fizzy created weird powers. She had the power to create bubbles along with her winking powers. Galaxy had the power of creating light with her horn - and some clairvoyance (sp?) along with he winking, Ribbon could read minds and use telepathy, along with her winking. Gusty could create wind, Buttons use telekinesis. All of them, along with their winking. But all this is so not the point. No matter how strong or weak her parents were, how unusual usual their powers were, each character is unique, and any major change must be approved. If these five unicorns of light were chars of EoD, their approval sheets would have included all those powers, and they would have been approved or rejected. So please, I do understand - and share - the idea of wanting your char to be similar to Fizzy (I too somehow insert traits of my beloved G1s into my chars who are descendants of them, like memories or personality traits), but again, it is another thing to add whole extra powers.

I hope you don't take this baddly, I'd just hate it for you to be left with the feeling that this is unfair or something. I hope you still wanna enjoy the fun. This whole thing being said, I too liked the post very much and I think it was awesomely detailed. But it does have to be edited, no matter how much we liked it. It is beyond the rules.

And no problem, that's what we're here for . Personally I do see a way how Pangolin and Ivy might get out of there (it's really obvious and non original at all, you'd find it boring and ordinary ) but I think you guys'd prefer to develop your own idea, otherwise it's no fun. See ya around!
