Starlight Mint


Age: 18

Gender: Female

Appearance: A magenta-ish red color with black and grey hair, made in a vertical stripey fashion. Her wings are regular sized with black speckles and dots on them on each side. Her symbol is a dark colored licorice mint candy on her right side.

Breed / Species : G1 Pegusus

Family: Sugar Blaster ( Mother- Earth), Cracker Jack ( Father-Pegasus) ( both died in the great death) , Matador ( Pet-cat)

Brief History : A simple pegasus living in Lucicitta. Since she only works at the market selling handmade goods and trinkets, she lounges around alot in her free time.. Not! She is known in her area for being a scheming prankster and troublemaker despite her good-naturedness. She doesn't do any of this stuff out of spite, just for fun.
However, one day she and Matador was browsing the sea-side shore and found a lost book of the Volcano witches. Matador urged her to leave it alone, but Starlight's curiosity inclined her to take it home and learn from it. The spells were diverse, mainly bizarre spells that seemed more like rituals, including power up magic, soul absorbtion and other spells that seem risky yet resourseful. Not caring ( nor thinking) about the consiquences of such a thing of raw material, Matador and herself tried out some of the readable spells from water damage so that they could use them to their advantage in driving the townspeople crazy, her goal to become a witch herself. However, it's dangerous to play with fire, and Mint was head-first in the broiler.
She learned spell called void, most of the explination hard to read from the water's damage to the page, yet it read " *****speed of an angel which we s*****". Good enough! With this she could buzz around the townfolk, yank on someone's tail and zoom off hiding before they knew what hit them. However, after chanting this spell for it to work, she began to feel dizzily out of touch with herself. She felt swifter than ever before, but moments later she blacked out. When she finally came to, she found herself in the middle of the road of the marketplace, tents and booths aflame. Matador was aghast and told Starlight that she was out of control, acting like a completely different pony. Before he could explain more, the royal guard rushed into the scene, calling in an arrest for her acts. Confused but hostile, Starlight had Matador take ahold of her tail and flew off, evading from them aftera day's chase.
Now one of the top criminals on the list, Starlight Mint and Matador are searching for the Witch's hideout to find a way for them to return the pony to her regular self while being on the lam of Ponyland. ( Possible, or perhaps not)

Abilities: Flight (40 mph tops. She isn't that serious about her flying skills)

Void: A spell she learned form the book. She wanted something to make her stronger, yet the spell posesses her. She grows stronger and her colors grow darker, however she cannot hold a strong free-will, only a slight one.

Strengths in void:

-Flight goes up to 80mph (30 more mph added)
( Void = is effective for 30 minutes max. It is triggered spontanious when the witches wish for it to do their damage. When Void ends, she grows weak and needs about an hour to recooperate
-Incendia lepus (is effective for 20 minutes): Fire spell. She pounds the ground with her front hooves in a seeminly morse code, making her legs and wings aflame. With this she can use in hand to hand ( err...hoof to hoof...) battle. ( no this isn't a god-modding bit. She isn't immortal or anything, and still can be brought down like any normal pony)

Description: A dark turquoise furred cat with a silver earring on his left ear.

Description: Starlight's pet, friend and companion ( more like partner in crime). He is very cautious compared to his pony friend. He is very worried about the strange behavior that takes control of Mint sometimes. He is a talking humanly cat on all fours. He is a sub-type.

She's pretty! I like her a lot but there is one or two things that stands out - her parents! They would have died in the great death if she were that old. You can either remove them from her history or make her younger and have her parents be ponies of darkness too.

The other thing is that she has too many abilities! Flying is a given but please choose between the shapeshifting, the fire-wings or the void. (I personally vote for the void! sounds cool and I don't thing we've got anything like that)

I think her colour is okay too, but I'll let another mod make a judgement call on that since I am notoriously bad at calling suitable colours ^^;

Well done, Cure! A lovely well written first character. So let me give you some suggests and edits. They aren't major, so no worries!

Her colors are fine and I LOVE that chibi drawing of her! Too adorable!

"Lucietta" is actually spelled Lucicitta. (...right?) I know it is a hard word to spell, it's Italian!

I'm fine with her learning this from a book. Now, since we as members and writer know what is going on, even though the characters don't, the Mods do ask that if you have any plans or ideas that you want kept secert from your character still be mentioned somewhere within the character sheet. We ask this because we want to make sure that your great ideas don't clash with anything already within the History of plans for EOD.

So, do you know if she's being possesed by a spirt? If so whom? If not, you'll need ot let us know and let us approve that part once you do know. Is it just a curse that she'll need to find a disspell for?

When you say she grows stronger, what do you mean by that? We ask because we don't want one pony becoming too powerful over another. So for instance, if she could fly, "50 mph tops", as you wrote, then when she is in Void-mode she could say...fly 80 mph tops? 60? 70? 55? give us Mods and idea of what you mean by stronger. Does she gain any other powers? If so, she should be limited to one more.

Also, if you plan on her using the book more than already has been mentioned, you'll need to state how it is used. Spell componets? (like making potions and
using objects?) by speaking verbals? (word incantations) And/or by using gestures? (hoof stamping, tail flipping etc. an equivalent to our hands and body moving. What spells are found in the book? Do you as the writer know where it came from?

My idea is that it may be a book from the witches that got away from the Volcano during the take-over. Being a magic book it was protected from water damage, or it could be water damaged and so Mint can only use some spells.

My last question is, can Matador speak? Or is he a regular cat? Just curious.

I know this may all be a lot to digest but the Mods will apperciate you giving us some details. It will also help you when writing/playing your character and be a good reference for other players.

(Waves) Hey, Cure! I just wanted to share a couple of thoughts!

Say, when you say that she's a pegasus living in Lucicitta, do you mean Lucicitta City (the capital of the Duchy) or just the Duchy itself? You can choose anything really. The capital is a large, old city by the sea, but the Duchy itself is a large area and I'm sure there's more than one town (maybe two or three?), and a couple of villages, and most probably country estates and farms spread all over the territory.

The thing, I'm just a little curious: when you say she's widely know in her area for being a prankster and trouble-maker, it's really ok because it's just for fun and it's not uncommon or "against the law" However, when you say that she wants to use the spells (and like Dragonblossom said, you should still let us know what kind of spells or extra powers this book can give her) to drive the townspeople crazy...well, how much trouble do you mean? You see, the Duchy of Lucicitta is under Silver Dream's rule - like the rest of Ponyland - but its rulers keep a certain degree of autonomy, as long as they stay loyal to the Queen and keep the land in order. Thus, by explecit order of the Stewards, the Lucicittan guard - which are something like the local police force - hunts and arrests criminals, local mafias, thieves, slave traders, and even pirates in the sea (they have a fleet), all in order to make Lucicitta appear a nice and perfectly peaceful land, and not give a reason to the Queen to send a heavy presence of Royal guards down there and take care of things themselves. As you can see, if you wanted her to be a lot of trouble, dangerous, and she started being too much of a trouble, it would be the local Lucicittan rulers themselves who would aim to deal with her swiftly, before she draws too much attention and the representative of the Queen decides to do so himself.

So, a couple of thoughts: my idea is that the "control" is greater in the capital city itself. Maybe you'd like her to be in a small town or village? Not that she won't be be tracked down by the guards in the latter case, but it would take longer, I guess. Or maybe, if you really want her to be a trouble maker and be "persecuted by the law " you could have her and her cat be wanderers, fleeing from town to town in the Duchy. 'Course, she would be one in the list of the "most wanted ones" in Lucicitta .

Just some thoughts! And hooray for your first char ^^.

Just a couple more questions. When she goes into Void-mode, How long does she remain in that mode? What are the triggers? Does it have triggers? Can she control it at all or doers it just take control of her? Once the mode leaves her, how long does she need to rest? Does she need to rest? If not, then how does she regain the energy lost?

Sorry for so many questions. I really like this concept! Also, do you have an idea of where you'd like to RP her? Do you understand that the Witches are dead (or gone) and that the Volcano is under new management? Does she know this? If not, that's okay. (I think...)

Does Matador have any other abilities other than being able to converse in pony-language? Oh and walk on two legs? lol I'd request him not to, that he just be a special cat. Maybe he gained his ability to speak from the backlash of magic from the book? Or is he a sub-type of cat?

You don't really need to answer al lthe questions about Matador but I'm just curious! Thanks for being helpful and understanding with the character review process.

As for Matador, he can only use pony-speech. I put him up as a sub-type since it wasn't something I was working on Thankyou though! And no, he cannot walk on two legs. He's not that comic.

And yes, I understand that the witches of the volcano are gone and that it is re-established. I read through the history and some of the posts and I missed them as villains. I kind of wanted to try and bring them back in, not as seriously as what they did before, but somewhat. Basically Starlight Mint is a pillar (not in MLP RPG sense of a pillar) that they can go about through to do what they want. Is this okay of clashing?

Okay sounds good to me. Only a final few nit-picks.

1) duration of the incendis lupis ability?
2) Could you leave the void spell as just being a spontaneous action? It is fine if you want it to be due to the "possibility" that the whitches are still alive, however the Mods would need to do a discussion and decide if they are or not. Since they are a major NPC character(s).

tweak this and I'll give my approval. Then you'll just need one more. ('Drom said she would be giving you one, but it isn't offical yet as there is no stamp from her, sorry.)

Maybe I shouldn't have made this character so in-deph and more simple like Crimson. Sorry for the trouble everyone! However, I have finished your answers now on the profile, Dragonblossom, so I think it is about ready. I need one more stamp from another mod though x_x

Okie Dokie! I've checked this whole profile (all the editions) and I think there are a couple of things we should discuss with the other mods. I'll talk to the others first. A little more patience .

I'm going to pull a 'woah nelly' on you here, Cure.
• Mint has quite a few major implications on the story line.
• Normally we limit unique abilities to one-per-character.
• We're trying to halt the species creation of EoD so that it doesn't become too insanely diverse.

We'd actually like to see you RP for a while and perhaps create some less-complicated characters before moving onto something this all-encompassing.

When we revisit Mint, I think it would be best if you made cat character, Matador, be an actual cannon mlp species. The easiest adjustment would be to make him a My Little Kitty--I guess a dwarf or runt if you want him smaller. Typical MLKs are the same size as a flutter pony.

If you'd like to create other characters or adopt other characters in the meantime, feel free.
