ok, first of all, i haven't finished typing everything out. i have everything written down in a notebook, so i will be adding it as soon as i can get it typed onto my comp, lol. but here's what i have so far for breezies.
Document Submission-Creature
NAME OF CREATURE/SPECIES: Breezie DESCRIPTION OF HOW IT LOOKS: Breezies are very tiny; they only stand up to an adult g3’s knees. They have butterfly-like antenna, which act as a booster to their sense of touch and smell. They have small lacy wings, and are capable of short quick flights. When they fly, glowing dust scatters from their wings. PLACE(S) WHERE IT LIVES: they tend to live in natural places, avoiding buildings and cities. They like forests and meadows, anywhere undeveloped. CONNECTION(S) TO OTHER EOD SPECIES (if any): The Seelie court tends to help any body out if they need it, as long as the pony (or other creature) is friendly, and in a wilderness area. Unseelie Breezies tend to create problems for creature in a wilderness area, such as cause a rainstorm in the area when it is important to be dry. POWERS (If any): Seelie Breezies have constructive nature based powers. For example: light, growing plants, warmth, healing wounds. Unseelie Breezies have destructive nature based powers, such as darkness, withering plants, coldness, and causing wounds. LIMITATIONS/WEAKNESSES (must have at least one): Breezies can’t live long in developed areas; their ties to nature are too strong. They also seem to be a little claustrophobic, and avoid close areas, which compared to a pony, is the size of a medium sized rat hole. OTHER (any additional information):
OK, now the long part…. I’ve put a lot of thought into this race, so, let me know what I need to expand on…
Seelie and Unseelie does NOT mean good and evil. It means that they are a balance. Light and dark, yin and yang, everyone knows the deal.
Seelie Breezies: brighter colors, usually colorful, positive attitudes, cheerful, hard to anger, stuff like that, constructive powers.
it is possible to change alliances. it takes a mystical rite, and can be done for person reasons, that is, the breezie chooses to change alliegance, or it can be done by a vote from the council, such as an unseelie breezie acting in a seelie way more often than as an unseelie, or vice versa.
Breezies are ruled by a council of 9: 8 Buds and 1 Flower. 4 Buds are Seelie, 4 Buds are Unseelie, the Flower is the deciding vote, so remains neutral, but only votes n issues that are in a tie.
Rules to become The Flower: must have lived half their life as Seelie and half as Unseelie, a balanced life, in other words. Usually, but not always, the oldest Breezie, they are voted in by the council of Buds, being judged as fair, wise and impartial. In case of a tie, the retiring Flower decides, and if the old Flower is dead or incapacitated, the council asks the oldest Seelie and Unseelie outside the council to help with the decision.
Leadership within Breezie society outside the council is loose, with no clear-cut leader. Age is determining factor when there is a minor disagreement. In the Unseelie court, fear and respect are deciding factors beyond age, and in the Seelie court, it is respect and love.
Alliance (or court) changes:
A Breezie’s alliance can be changed by personal choice, council sentencing or by consistent behavior. The most common change is personal choice. Council sentencing is very rare, and is usually against a Seelie Breezie that has acted in an Unseelie way at a most inappropriate time. Consistent behavior can cause a change unconsciously, but fits the personality of the Breezie at the time.
Upon deciding to change courts, the Breezie’s power slowly changes to the opposing court. The Breezie’s color changes slowly, either from dark grey-toned to bright toned or vice versa. The change takes one week to complete. Powers start changing subtly, such as a Seelie with the power to cause flowers to bloom: day 1, the power in not noticeably changed. Day 3 and 4, they can’t do anything at all, there is no change in the plants or flowers. Day 7, the flowers will wither rather than bloom.

Well I really like what I see so far!! I'll keep watch on this topic.
vrolok- 09-22-2006
ok, i have added the rest of what i had. i'll wait for the questions to pour in, lol. i'm sure there's more clarification needed somewhere...

Now that you're finished we can work out some more of the details.
It sounds like they live in clusters.... rather than solitary individuals. How many, approximately, live in a cluster? (general number... 50.. 100... more?) Do they live in a permanent place... like a village? or are they nomadic, and live in camps? Do they sleep out under the stars like animals? or do they have little huts (or something?)
About the alliance change. so even if the change is caused by a personal choice, do they still go through the "mystic rite"? or is that only necessary when the change is done by council?
Can the council force a breezie to make this change against it's will?
While powers of a character are a very imaginative thing depending on the creativity of the player... please write up a list of powers that would be common for a breezie to have. This isn't going to effect the approval of the species. I just want one in there for reference for any who creates a Breezie.

ok, they live anywhere from a small family group (parents, children, maybe some extended family) to 50 or so.
QUOTE

the only permanent township is a large cluster of tents made from flowers and other "natural" stuff. more shelters than actual buildings. this is where the council is. the location is semi=permanent, only being moved if there is danger. it is a very secretive place. the average breezie would have only heard rumors of it's existence. the elders of the breezies would know where it is, and criminals (few and far between for that, even for Unseelie).
otherwise, Breezies travel, sleeping in large flower buds like the fairies they resemble.
QUOTE

like i said above, they sleep in flowers for the most part, but they can sleep in hollow logs, tree branches, out in the open, just where ever they feel like at the moment.

the mystic rite is a personal thing. it is more of a minor ritual to their nature gods, like praying to them for their blessings in keeping balance in all things.
QUOTE
Can the council force a breezie to make this change against it's will?
yes, the council can change a breezie against their will but do so only if the breezie has broken a law (more like a moral guideline) of their court. such as a seelie breezie was tried and convicted of deliberately causing harm to someone, serious harm. or an unseelie healing a serious wound. neither were acting in accord to their court. but, it takes a serious charge against the breezie, and it takes all 9 council members to do it.
if there is a problem, the breezie gets brought before the leader of the family group first, then that leader takes the breezie before their elder, and it goes down the line. the problem is usually taken care of long before the council, and if it does go before the council, it was a serious offense.
ok, list of basic powers for a breezie:
seelie: cause flowers to bloom, plants to grow, healing, light, cause luck (for another being, temporary, maybe something to do with finding something, i dunno), cause a light rain, or clear up rain (in a small area size of a smallish house)
unseelie: cause plants to wither, darkness, cause unluckiness, cause a torrential storm or cause a drought (in a small area, maybe the size of a smallish house)
well, if there's anymore questions, lol, i'll try to come up with the answer

Hey, Vrolok! Just a quick question here
About the basic powers of the seelies and unseelies: do you mean a breezie char would have all of these powers (according to their allegiance)? Or just one of them?
Also, would you say that aside from these powers, said char can have another extra one?
Been reading the document ^__^ Will give some feedback soon, but first I'd like to know a little more 'bout their powers. Thanks a lot!

well, those are just suggested powers, really. they usually have just one power, but it has to do with enhancing nature in either a light or a dark way, depending on the court. i want to leave it up to players and mods what the character's power would be.
maybe an elder seelie or unseelie would develop more powers over time.

Okie dokie! Thanks a lot, Vrolok! Will give some more feedback soon!

OK, well, I've re-read the whole document, Vrolok. ^__^ Congrats on the great detail (I love careful details ) and how well thought-out they are. I have no great objections. Just a couple of observations:
1) Well, I think it's ok for them to have just one power, considering that most of these powers are quite...well...magical ^^ . If anyone wanted to have a breezie char with more than one power, I wouldn't reject it right away. More like mull it over carefully, depending on what char and what powers they are, kay? A comment on the "causing wounds" power, though. You know, I was going to say "no" to this power. In fact, it these were G1 chars in the northern mainland, I would say this is too powerful. But considering we're in Rainbow Dreams, and this area is like..not specialized in combat and warlike situations, I'll go along with this power, as long as you promise to go easy on it Like, remember we have a rule that no harm can be inflicted upon someone else's char without the owner accepting it. This rule basically reflects that people don't like someone else rping their chars being harmed. Considering the dark seelies are some sort of dark fairies, I think it's ok as long as they're not extensive, lethal wounds, and the owner of the char agrees on it. Mind you, these are only my views, haven't talked to the other mods about this specific power. Another mod might have a different opinon on this.
2) Would you mind working a little on Morgana having "created" the dark seelies? You know the G3s storyline, right? Morgana, Danny's daughter, a tomboyish girl who is a lot into computers and technology created them through her imagination and wishes. That's why the G3s are - at least, up until now - happier and lighter than the G1 ponies of darkness and are into technology, rather than magic. All I'd like to see is a little ellaboration on this: was Morgana going through a sad time? Has something happened, a nightmare, a bad experience, something, that has given origin to them? No need to write a whole long story about it, kay? More like, if you have an idea, I'd like to hear your views on it, and we'll work it out! There's no real need to add this, however. I just think it would add some depth to them, kay?
That being said, I'm giving you my approval in advance:
Just two more approvals!

i understand that completely! i envisioned the power to be a very minor one, maybe growing stronger as the breezie aged. (most likely to be npcs) for the player character breezies, i didn't see the hurting powers to be any more than a bee sting or an ant bite. an annoyance more than a harmful thing. actually, the same is true for the healing power. in other words, a beginning breezie can cause a bee sting for unseelie, or can cure the equivelent for the seelie. this shouldn't be too bad. breezies are tiny, and their powers reflect that. (i hope )

i like the idea, and i am going to have to reread about the g3s. so, i say sure, we can work something up about it. as i don't know the ins and outs of the ways this world works, i know how it works and how things were created, but i don't know all the little things and details all of you mods know so, thanks for your help in designing these little guys!! they have been a lot of fun to come up with! and i am going to keep an eye on all the character applications to see where the players are taking them. only because i love to see my ideas put to use

I love how you've developed the Breezies. I may not like the toy versions but I may just have to create a Breezie character now!
I approve! We should have one more before these are playable but you could probably start creating a character if you'd like.
vrolok- 10-10-2006
lol, i have been thinking of a character, but i am runnin gout of time, lmao.... college, child, college some more.... driving 2 hours to get there...
i can't wait until this semester is over!!
